LED Flashlight Tips

    Maglites as melee weapons

Maglites have been very well known to be used as melee weapons by policemen. Around March 2007, the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) announced that they would be switching to the Pelican LED 7060 which is smaller and brighter than Maglites. This is because Pelican LED 7060 can not be used as batons in response to a incident where an police officer was accused of using an excessive force against a suspect by using a Maglite.

This is a great flashlight. I really like that it has separate on/off buttons for each color.

Bought this for use while stargazing, to look at star maps and not ruin my night vision. Nicely constructed, very bright light ((white or red). Carrying case with belt loop and compartment for extra batteries is also helpful. Size is nice too - thin, not bulky like some red beam lights. Very pleased so far.

This is a really good red flashlight for night vision. I use it when I need to check on my daughter at night since regular white light is too bright. Red works really well and brings an incredible amount of detail to the darkness. I find this a great piece of hardware for my particular use. Highly recommended.

I received This item today.
Metal Construction, a nice Canvas Belt holster for it.
It even has 2 switches, one for red and one for white and you can have both on at the same time if you like. The thing even came with batteries! This should do great for late night astronomy outings.
All in all, ots on par or better than a mag-lite.

This is great for astronomy. White flashlight for setting up and taking down equipment -- red for looking at star charts -- all in one inexpensive package.
