Product Description This tiny, 2.64-inch LED pocket flashlight with clip-on lanyard is designed for close-quarters use. Its tough Xenoy body is faceted for secure gripping and molded in one piece with the pocket clip so the clip is virtually unbreakable. Pushing the pocket clip activates the switch, which provides quick on/off or momentary activation. A bright white light (9.0 tested lumen value) is produced by four LR 44 1.5V alkaline coin batteries (included). The flashlight weighs just 0.9 ounce with the batteries, which have a burn time of 130 hours. Because impact-resistant Xenoy is a blend of polyester and polycarbonate, it won't cause sparks and is safe to use in electrical environments. Specifications: - Length: 2.64" / 6.7 cm

About Pelican Products Dave Parker, president of Pelican Products, has been an avid scuba diver since age 11. During his early diving years, he repeatedly discovered that something he needed to make a dive complete was simply not available. It dawned on him that if he needed that piece of gear other divers did, too. In 1976, he began the company with his wife and co-founder Arline, an airline stewardess, while he continued his advertising and industrial-design business. From that inception as a small garage operation, Pelican has blossomed into an international marketing and manufacturing firm.

A great little light January 6, 2009 SoCal Music (California) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Very happy with this light. It's very bright and very compact -- both of the features I was looking for. It seems well-made (rugged), although I've only had it for a week or so -- so that's unverified at this point. I just ordered two more of these today.
Cute, Simple and last long February 10, 2009 C. H. WAI (Houston, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like the design of the Pelican L1. This flashlight is very durable and very handy that we can make it as a key chain.
Handy, bright, and long lasting September 1, 2009 AKO California (Los Angeles) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had one of these for years. The batteries it uses are among the least expensive watch/electronis batteries. I don't use it a lot, but I think it was maybe 5 years before I had to change the batteries. My AA and AAA always seem to need new batteries even if I rarely use them.
It is nice that it just works when I need it. The light is very bright and the size makes it handy to just keep around. For scale, a AA battery is about 1/2" shorter than this. The diameter is less than a C sized battery although it has that clip on the side that makes it maybe that wide in that direction.
The only problem I have is that I've had it so long (6 years? 7 years?) there's now a crack in the lens housing. It is water resistant and I think I over tightened the lens housing down which eventually caused the crack. It's still fine and I was just checking prices in case I wanted a new one. Glad to see they still make it.
Great February 23, 2010 H. Venugopalan Nair Rad (New Haven, CT, USA) Love it. Never fails, it seems. I use it as my key-chain flash... sturdy Pelican... amazingly powerful...
Potent and Compact April 30, 2010 A. Biggs Not much larger than a USB flashdrive this light is BRIGHT, even the reflection of the light off the desk is potent. First of all it should be noted this light is small, very handy, and the momentary on effect takes very little pressure. This might become annoying later but so far its made quick searches for items that slid under the couch a non hassle. The constant on/of is positive and you can hear it lock on or off. The clip is heavy-duty and feels as tough as you'd expect from a Pelican product. Something I must have missed when reading the description is that it also comes with both red and green filters in package, which is a nice addition for a compact light, and a real nice piece of foresight by the Pelican crew.
Overall; though I had initial reservations I'm very impressed with its durability and utility. I highly recommend it
