    SureFire LED Flashlight

SureFire not only produces normal but they also produce a line of LED flashlight products. SureFire LED flashlights include many features such as multiple levels of brightness and electronically-controlled power regulation. SureFire has changed their flashlight from the Lumileds Luxeon LEDs to the more efficient Cree XR-E LEDs in some of the models released in 2007. SureFire LED flashlights often have improved run time versus their incandescent lights of similar output.

1 out of 5 stars Weak LEDs and poor design   April 29, 2009

I ordered this because I wanted a small pocked flashlight with a laser. I've gotten that type of item locally for a few bucks before, but can't find them now.

Anyway, I was disappointed in this one because the LEDs didn't give off much light at all, and there was a goofy design flaw with the light switch. The light switch is an on/off toggle that gets hit very easily when this is in your pocket. The first day I put it in my pocket and noticed that when I took it out in the evening to put my keys away, the light was on and the batteries were mostly drained. I got new batteries the next day but those only lasted two days because it kept turning itself on in my pocket. To add insult to injury, the batteries that it takes are the little button cell batteries so it cost something like $15 to refill it. Very disappointing. I gave it to my daughter to use as a cat toy.

Regarding the laser, it performed just fine. The button for the laser was the kind that you hold to keep it on, so that didn't cause any problems. Even if the flashlight had that type of switch, it still wouldn't be worth it, however, because of how expensive the batteries are to replace.
