| Customer Reviews: Lives Up to Its Billing February 5, 2006 Virgil Brown (White Oak, Texas USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Pelican L-4 lives up to its billing. It's a tough, streamlined LED that puts out 8 lumens of light. Being tough does not mean hitting it with a hammer, but I do use mine at work all of the time and have dropped it several times. This is where I like it over a Brinkman. The AAAA batteries are a little more difficult to find than AAA but not impossible. The push button switch is definitely a plus. And it comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Pelican may be better than the Streamlight November 18, 2005 Light Guy (Wisconsin) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Just got this little 8 lumen powerhouse. Haven't used it in the field yet, but I have high hopes. It's noticeably brighter than the Streamlight stylus, but it's made of plastic. We'll have to see how Pelican's "indestructible" claim holds up.
Bright little lite June 7, 2006 Eyegoo 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the brightest penlight I have seen so far. I am an eye care professional, and have tried several brands of penlights. The light is white and uniform, no dark areas. Great for checking pupil reactions and gross examination. Can be turned on with one hand. Long battery life. The push button is hard to depress, otherwise it would have received 5 stars.
Essential Piece of Equipment January 9, 2009 J. Hrabar (Seattle Wa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just received the flashlight in question, and wow. Simply amazing and bright. It is about the size of a medium pen, and the color of a high lighter.
the only downfall of the flashlight seems to be the internal metal piece. I had to bend and mend it a little bit by forcing the battery threw. Once completed the batteries go in and out easily, but before, they would not go in and once in would not come out. The operation took less than 30 seconds.
Amazing light
Pelican L4 Penlight April 21, 2009 G. Wilson (Illinois) I am pleased for the most part, it is a very good, very useful little light. But I feel the size is a little large. Streamlight's pen light is much smaller in diameter, and slightly brighter.
