The LD40 offers 4 main lighting outputs: Low, mid, high, and turbo (from left to right). | The LD40 is equipped with a neutral white LED bulb that features high penetrating power and ample color penetration. The resulting color temperature of roughly 4,000 K makes objects look full of detail and definition, making your excursions livelier and more interesting. This low color temperature also combines with the low wavelength to penetrate dust, rainwater, and other airborne elements far better than a cool white LED bulb. Plus, it throws the beam farther than most other compact flashlights. Powered by four AA batteries, the LD40 offers two modes (light and flashing) and seven total output types. The four light outputs include turbo (248 lumens), high (110 lumens), mid (43 lumens), and low (4 lumens), while the three flashing outputs include strobe (278 lumens), slow flashing (64 lumens), and SOS (64 lumens). Add in the light's double-button tailcap switch and 245-hour potential runtime and you can meet almost any outdoor lighting demand. The flashlight is well built, with a durable aircraft-grade aluminum light head coated with a premium Type III hard-anodized, anti-abrasive finish. The construction--which also includes a toughened ultra-clear double glass lens with an anti-reflective coating--helps the light hold up to all kinds of abuse.
